As the sun reaches its peak this week, we honor both the light of the Summer Solstice and the liberation of Juneteenth — two powerful reminders of renewal, resilience, and the sacred right to rest.
In this moment of brightness, many of us feel dimmed — worn thin by caregiving, building, leading, holding. Whether you’re a healthcare provider, a founder or a community organizer, burnout can become the quiet undertow of even the most purposeful life.
This summer, we invite you into something different:
A space where healing doesn’t mean fixing yourself — but remembering who you are beneath the exhaustion. Because rest isn’t just self-care — it’s resistance. And repair is possible.
Below you’ll find our summer offerings, each crafted with deep care:
Ignite and Empower
June 25th 4-7pm (Optional sauna/cold plunge 6-7pm)
Join Cinnamon Brûlée for an intimate healing journey where you'll harness the ancient Japanese Yakisugi technique of burning wood as a powerful metaphor for transformation.
Ignite & Empower is a transformative session designed specifically for entrepreneurs who have faced business closure, unrealized ventures, major client losses, or team layoffs. This gathering will provide a safe space to process failure, release shame, and reclaim confidence through the metaphor of fire. By harnessing the power of fire, we transform setbacks into fuel for our next bold venture. Attendees will leave with renewed agency, a structured plan for moving forward, and a deepened connection to their inherent wholeness. Are you ready to release, reclaim, and thrive?
Positive X Change
Last Thursday of the month// June 26th, July 31st, August 28th 5:30-7pm
This is a dynamic, semi-structured event for professional and social networking, connection, and open invitations to exchange ideas, perspectives, and practices for positive change. We’ll be radically flipping the script on traditional events- using 'open space' technology where the evening’s agenda, topics and discussion circles are participant-driven, where attendees explore real issues and collaborate in a space designed for authentic connection, candid conversations, collective intelligence building, and actionable takeaways.
There are no requirements or expectations to propose ideas or lead discussions. Come if you are curious and simply want to listen, learn, and connect. Or come with an idea, topic or big question to share about how to generate positive change in the world. We only ask that you show up with open minds, open hearts, and open wills . Our goal is for you to leave the event feeling positively energized, resourced, and optimistic. Facilitated by Good Medicine member, Brad Peirce, transformative leadership coach and co-founder of Regenerative Change Lab.
Introduction to Ketamine for Healers
Two opportunities this summer: July 17th/18th & August 21/22
Intro to Ketamine for Healers is a group offering for health professionals who confront the suffering of others on a daily basis. This introductory experience offers the unique opportunity to explore this expanded state of consciousness in a group of people who may be facing similar struggles of burn-out, compassion fatigue or loss of purpose. This circle provides a time for deep rest, introspection and community connection. Both groups will be facilitated by Riverbird providers Matt Stevens, DO and Liz Strawbridge, MD.
Group Ketamine Healing Circle for Community Organizers
September 17th/18th
We are living in a tumultuous time. Our collective need for a paradigm shift is palpable; and yet, the rapid changes we are seeing seem to be taking us further away from the truths that we know and the healing that we need: community, connection, and belonging. At Riverbird, we are feeling the call to show up for our community in a way that meets this moment. As such, we are eager to offer ketamine group experiences to those of you on the front line of social change work at a significantly reduced price. This offering is specifically designed for community organizers, advocates, activists, and those working at non-profits. This group will be facilitated by Julian Rowland (community organizer, senior director at Maine Initiatives) and Riverbird providers- Liz Strawbridge MD and Maddy Riker RN.
Check out other offerings this summer at Good Medicine that invite us to slow down, feel, connect and make contact with the inspiration that fuels us to show up once again to this life.
Love your events. Wish I was in Maine. Thanks for your post and happy Juneteenth! https://deargrownwomen.substack.com/p/juneteenth-and-the-luxury-of-doing?r=4h7ehw
